NY Post-Exam Student Comments

Here's a sample of what our students had to say after their NY Bar Examination:

"Regardless of what happens, I know I was definitely more prepared (as well as more confident and calmer) for the exam this time than I'd ever been before. You also nailed at least 4 of the 5 NY essay topics, which was great because I had done more practice essays and review on the topics you suggested. it was also great to see the changes you mentioned on the MBE - especially the absence of multiple questions based on a single fact pattern and the lack of "roman numeral" answer choices.
Thanks again for everything, and hopefully I'll be contacting you in November with some good news."

"Just a quick note to say thanks of all the help throughout the process, the time really flew by.  I followed the essay writing technique to the best of my ability,  the essay writing style worked out to be very efficient and definitely saved time.
Thanks again for the help, constructive criticism, words of wisdom and prayers."

"I really have to say your NY program was the best possible choice. You are a professional and very dedicated to your students. Regardless of my performance on this test. I would heartily recommend you to anyone of my Aussie chums who are on the edge of making the leap to take this exam."

"Although we have not met, I consider you my friend. During these months, you have done everything in your power to help me pass this tough exam. As I had once taken two other bar reviews, I found no such personal interest on whether I passed or not. Therefore, aside from the review, I think what got me through was your personal interest and the mentoring, including helping me get over the test anxiety.

"Thanks for everything. I felt very prepared and confident during the Exam."

"Well I survived!  I wanted to let you know that a good 25% of the people and mostly panicky looking -- were sitting on the floor studying outlines while we were waiting to be admitted to the examination!!
Being basically nosy and old, I asked a lot of them which bar review they used and ALL said [the big one] though many were very dissatisfied with them for one reason or another.  Most stated that they had compared notes with friends in that course, and the teaching was left too much to the discretion of the instructors, and some of the instructors had told them not to worry about things which were on the essays yesterday!!
I am totally amazed that I had fun on this exam so far, and although I made some mistakes feel I did okay overall. Thanks for all of your help and encouragement.  It has meant so much to me!  I am SO glad I took your course."

"The test was hard....BUT .....fair.  I didn't find any surprises in the essays and wrote for the full hour on each with your words of wisdom pounding in my head!!  The MBE was tough however, I felt comfortable answering about 150 of the questions so I'm hoping that between the ones I was delusional about and the ones I may have been lucky enough to stumble across the right answer, I'll do OK here!!!"

"I was surprised at how much I learned from your course. It's one thing to memorize details, but it's another to feel that you are equipped with the skills necessary to execute the task. So imagine my surprise on the first day in the morning exam when finally everything came together when I started doing the outlines for each essay as you instructed us. The method of writing you taught allowed me to discuss the facts adequately and apply the law instead of writing a treatise on what the law is about (which one is really inclined to do because one wants the examiner to think that we know the law). But that really isn't what the bar exam is about in the US, and I appreciate the clear instructions from you to this effect. It also reduced the sense of panic and fear one has from anticipating the difficulty of performing well in any exam. I was on autopilot! While I have passed bar exams in foreign jurisdictions and taken bar review courses to prepare for the latter, I have yet to come across a bar review course that imparts the necessary knowledge and skills that I can carry into the real world of practice. It's never too late to learn, and one learns something new everyday. So thank you for providing value and adding value to my career."
