In a recent article in the Bar Examiner Magazine, the President of the NCBE, Erica Moeser* writes:
"Given what we know about factors that contribute to
success on the bar examination...[s]tudents need to have their analytical and
reasoning skills sharpened. They need practice in
writing and frequent opportunities to receive feedback that guides them to
clearer thinking and more effective written expression. They need
solid grounding in core subject content.
What students do not need are endless multiple choice
questions without learning how analysis can guide them to the correct opinion.
They do not need exposure to the snake oil of acronyms or any other patent
remedies masquerading as bar preparation. In short, the
best bar prep is probably what can be delivered by ... those who focus on legal
writing." (emphasis added)
*Does not imply an endorsement by the NCBE of Celebration Bar Review, its course, materials or methods. Celebration Bar Review is a Licensee of the National Conference.
Though Ms. Moeser's article ultimately prefers law school bar courses to private courses, her reasoning is sound when it comes to what makes any bar review successful. That's why, since our inception in 1995, the primary focus of Celebration Bar Exam Review has been to provide writing practice and individual feedback. And it's a major reason why our pass rates consistently exceed the state averages.
Celebration Bar Exam Review is the ONLY
major Bar Review to offer personal phone conferences with the lead instructor about your written essays
and Performance Tests!
"I want to thank you for who
you are and for what you do. I'm grateful that I found you. My life has
changed because of this course..." Feb 2008 CA Bar Taker
We have two standard mentoring course options, PLUS a new Option: Premium Mentoring Service™ offering the most comprehensive, ultimate level of personal attention available in the Bar Review Industry. This Premium program is only available to 25 students per exam and has SOLD OUT for each exam. Be sure to enroll soon!
Our mentoring ranges from full assistance to minimal direction. In each case, our bar review expert - Jackson Mumey is available by toll free phone, email or fax. Phone conferences are held during office hours which are usually from 12pm - 7pm M-F eastern time. Office hours vary and students are informed of the available hours each Monday by email.
To assure consistency, you will be directed to send specific written work to Jackson. The assignments are detailed in your Personal Study Guide. Most mentored students will have between 10-20 phone conferences about their specific writing during the course. Unsolicited material will not be accepted for review and there is a cutoff approximately 10 days before each exam for new submissions for conferences. Enrollment in the Mentored Course is quite limited and you are encouraged to register early for this course to assure a spot.
Some students talk to Jackson every few days, others less frequently. Every Celebration Bar Exam Review student receives email messages and online webcasts before the bar to ensure consistent focus and support along with opportunities for study strategy conferences and substantive assistance. No matter which option you select, you get the attention and help you want, need and can afford.
With the standard and premium mentored programs, you'll be directed to submit specific written assignments (essays and/or Performance Tests) to Jackson for review. All mentored review (Standard and Premium) is conducted by phone conferences.
We have recently added a written email critique service as an option. To order this new service, select the Materials Only Course Option and Add Email Mentoring from the Special Options Menu from our Online Order Form.
"I am really pleased with the new mentoring options. Many thanks for the great offer!" Feb 2009 Registered Student
With the materials-only option, you don't submit any work for review. Instead, you can check your writing against our sample answers and listen to discussions of the questions on the audio lectures. There are hundreds of questions in each course that contain sample answers and/or audio discussions.
Most people know if they need the personal attention of the full mentored program, but if you're not sure that's the right option for you, we allow you to register for the materials only course now and upgrade to mentoring later for an additional fee, provided space is still available in the course.
"I just wanted to let you know that I passed the Bar exam! Thank you so much for getting me through one of the most trying times of my life. Not only was your program brilliant but your mentoring skills were such a comfort." PASSED FL 2008
