You were a great help. Your essay writing techniques really helped me. I
was always very conscious that coming from another country with a different

"I wanted to write an email to you also, thanking you and Sara, and everyone at Celebration Bar Review for your help. Seven years and four tries later I am finally a lawyer! If it had not been for you Jackson, changing my entire style of writing and guiding me, (and being hard on me!), I never would have accomplished this goal. Celebration Bar Review is unlike any other and I understand and now realize that when you surrender yourself to the process that you lay out and do the work in the way your course recommends you will pass. I would never have gotten the same care and attention from BarBri, Bar Passers or any other course. I took Bar Bri the first two times I took the bar exam, and it did very little for me. There was never anyone there critiquing my work and telling me what I was doing wrong, there was just a slew of books and videos, with little or no personal attention. I would get my essays back to me with a failing score written on them but no comment as to what was wrong with it. So what did I do? Continued to write failing essays! It was like banging my head into a wall over and over again.
I just wanted to let you know that I passed the California Bar exam and I
wanted to thank you for your great review program. I benefited
tremendously from your review, both from the substantive content, as well as,
or perhaps even more, from your general approach to what is important to know
for passing the Bar. Your constant reminder to stay calm and rely on our
underlying understanding of the law was absolutely invaluable, and came in
especially handy when right before the exam everything seem to go wrong (e.g.
after hanging out at the airport for a few hours the night before, my flight
was canceled and I had to get up very early to make a morning flight to LA,
getting there in the afternoon, just in time to get to my hotel, find the
convention center, and get a few hours of sleep). Thank
you again for a great program and all your assistance!

"I passed the July 2004 California Bar Exam. It was a tremendous thrill.
I would like to thank you for your wonderful program. Most people I went to law
school with used another program (BarBri) and most of them, regrettably, failed
the bar. In fact, 52 percent of those taking the California Bar Exam failed
it. As you noted in your lectures, the other programs tired them out and
stressed them out. Few kept up with their assignments-- there were simply too
many of them. By the time they reached the testing facility, they were
exhausted. I, however, felt relaxed, confident, just like you said I should
(and would) feel. While I was sitting in the facility waiting to begin each
session, while I was taking the exam, and after I left the hall with the
thousands of other examinees, I really believed I had a handle on what I needed
to know, and, as the results indicate, my belief was not ill-founded. Six
quality hours of study a day truly is ideal, and your program is based, in part,
on this fact. Reiteration of the lessons via different formats-- outlines,
lectures, practice tests, MBE's-- proved an extremely effective way of learning.
However you came up with your method, the method works.
No doubt you hear much praise from successful bar takers who have used your
program. My voice is just one of the many now singing its praises. I have
already had an opportunity to recommend your program to one of my unfortunate
classmates who did not pass. I will continue to recommend it to other aspiring
attorneys, just as it was recommended to me.
I would be pleased to be of any help I can be to anyone pursuing such a
satisfying goal as passing the bar exam."

vacation, and even move 2 weeks before the bar . . . and still pass. Your system
was particularly useful to me because it was flexible and portable.
The essay writing workshop and method was great. Even though I knew I didn't
know--and couldn't know--all of the law that I could be tested on, I felt
confident that I had a way to approach the writing that would at least give me a
good fighting chance at producing a passing answer. That confidence allowed me
to avoid panic, and to just do it. It
worked."

When I sat for the
bar exam, I felt relaxed and in control. I knew that I was prepared. There
was no anxiety or fear. It actually was fun. I remember walking away from
each and every session knowing that I had passed that session.
When people asked me how I felt I did on the exam, I told them that I had
passed and was just waiting for the "official" results in November.
Previously, when I had to wait for the exam results, my anxiety and stress
levels were so very high. This time, I just went on about my business. I
knew that I had passed as you had prepared me so well.
My advice to bar candidates is to take this course AND do exactly
whatever Jackson tells you to do. Don’t argue. Follow his directions and
listen to his compassionate advice. The choice is simple, you can take the
bar exam full of stress and anxiety OR you can take the exam knowing you are
prepared, relaxed, in control and going to pass.

the California Bar Exam. The trip was a bit surreal, one for which my 35 years
of litigation experience was only of marginal help. Plunging into the cobwebbed
corners of legal arcana to which I had given absolutely no thought since law
school required more than internal discipline. It required a level of
professional assistance that would accommodate my own demanding schedule, was
thorough, penetrating, and practical, and -- of great importance -- was lucid
and interesting. Your program met each of these needs, and more.
The comprehensive printed materials are now on my office bookshelf as a valuable

So, 60 complex, civil jury trials later, my firm decides to open a California office and I decide to take the California Bar. I discovered The Celebration Bar Exam Review on the internet. There is no doubt in my mind that the written materials, lectures and practice questions fully prepared me an exam that I had no interest in taking. As daunting and unappealing as this task was to me , I came to enjoy Jackson Mumey's succinct lecture style and cadence, sprinkled frequently with droll comments about lawyers and the bar exam itself. It seemed to be the perfect way for a busy , practicing lawyer to become reacquainted with countless legal concepts that were at best a very vague memory. More importantly , the course reminded me of test taking techniques long since forgotten , which in turn allowed me to be confident in the way that I approached each question as I organized and wrote my answer. In the final days before the exam I relied heavily on Jackson's prediction of the topics that would be on the exam, which turned out to be 100% accurate. ...thank you and Celebration Bar Exam Review as a whole for an excellent study course that clearly was my ticket to passing the California bar exam. I graduated from law school in 1993, took the Utah bar exam, and immediately joined the U.S. Foreign Service, which kept me overseas until last summer. I had no exposure to any type of "law" except immigration during that time, and wasn't up to speed on even the basic MBE subjects, let alone subjects like Community Property or Corporations that I never studied in the first place. Thanks to your course -- lectures that actually managed to be interesting, concise written outlines, representative practice questions -- I was able to learn much of the material better than I ever had in law school. I am grateful, and will recommend your course whenever I have occasion."Stewart Tuttle, Woodbridge VA
"Your California bar review course is excellent. I wanted the flexibility to study on my own schedule, in my own home, and Celebration allowed me thefreedom to do this. Each of the tapes, as well as the written course materials, covered the subjects thoroughly but, even more than that, provided a clear and concise review of each subject so that I could learn the areas of law that would be tested - and either refresh my memory (after all, I had graduated from law school 31 years ago) or learn the changes in the law that had occurred since I had last studied a subject. In addition, and just as important, your answer writing technique gave me a valuable and new approach to use and by working with the sample questions, it forced me to practice organizing my thoughts in the best way to answer the questions in a time-limited test environment. I have already recommended this course to others and believe that anyone who studies your materials will go into the exam fully prepared. The questions were exactly like those that you provided in the practice materials and there were NO SURPRISES. I am so very happy that I purchased your course. Thanks for all your personal help and support, also.
"The Celebration Bar Exam Review course is targeted and focused. It is a complete outline of all testable material, but manages to prioritize topics so that preparation is personalized and efficient. Celebration allowed me to adapt my studies to my tastes. The system provided a variety of modes and methods which prevented repetition fatigue and allowed a dynamic study regimen. There was consistent and reliable quality across all the modes and methods. Information on the style and structure of the exam methods, exam writing, and bar examiner methodology, were also excellent. Added to this were relevant, inspirational, educational and and entertaining e-mails. I have been admitted in 4 states, and this course is tough to beat."
"I just passed THE CALIFORNIA BAR EXAM!!!!!! Your mentoring was exactly what I needed. The first time I took the California bar exam, I really failed miserably. But with your help, I was able to just breeze through this exam on the 2nd try. For those people who are thinking about taking bar bri, well there is no question you are a better course. But what was even more surprising to me was how good your MBE course was. I took PMBR the first time around, and I only got a 120 on the MBE when I took the exam. The 2nd time, following your advice, my practice tests were showing me that I was scoring around 150 on the MBE. After doing some 5000 MBE questions with the other course, I came to the conclusion that your course is far superior for preparing for the MBE. The only reservation I had when I first signed up for your course, was that your MBE preparation I thought Was not going to be as good as the other courses, but my experience blew that misconception out of the water. Your course is far superior to anything else out there. Jackson, you're a Genius!"
"The increasingly global nature of legal work requires lawyers to be multi-jurisdictional in their qualifications. As an English trained lawyer working in Hong Kong, I decided to obtain an additional California qualification so that my U.S. clients would feel comfortable that we were both speaking the same legal language. The pressure of work meant that I had to pass the exam the first time around and needed to be able to prepare for it entirely remotely with a course that would have to be more than just a review but a substantive treatment of the subjects as well. Having narrowed my search for the right course down to Celebration and Micromash, I bought both but very soon realized the superiority of Celebration's offering and abandoned the latter. Celebration's clear advantage was the audio taped lecture course accompanying the materials and the structured study guide. The entire course was an intelligent and sumptuous dinner, the entree of which were a series of lectures on essay writing techniques. These were the best lectures I have ever experienced on the topic. The main course left me satisfyingly sated with the substantive law. For the first time, I was able to assimilate and prepare for an exam without cramming. This later proved to be crucial to my success when the stress and jet-lag accompanying the 13-hour flight across the Pacific left me unable to sleep for the first two nights of the exam. The MBE is grueling enough after a good night's sleep, but on that Wednesday morning, when the call was given to turn the page and start the exam, I had not slept for 48 hours. I was mentally drained and was also disoriented by the 16-hour time difference with my internal clock. The fact the Celebration Bar Exam Review got me through even under those extreme circumstances is a testimony to the Celebration's bar review philosophy. It works."

Mr. Jackson Mumey
Dear Jackson:
I wanted to take this opportunity to express my gratitude and appreciation for your guidance and instruction this past winter in helping me pass the February California Bar Examination. Let this also serve as a letter of recommendation to bar applicants considering your course.
Before signing up for your class, I researched thoroughly other bar review programs, but none of them were geared towards practitioners, such as myself, who hadn’t taken a bar exam in years and who were working full-time. Fortunately, your course provided precisely the kind of guidance I needed. Indeed, from a substantive point of view, your course had everything I was looking for: flexible times for consultation, personal critiques of my work, a well-organized plan of study, and very good lecturers on tape who really got me to focus on the essentials.
There was, however, something else that you had to offer which only the best teachers can provide: insight into their students’ strengths and weaknesses, and sound advice on how to handle them in a way to maximize the students’ ability to succeed. Your holistic approach to bar review helped me stay focused and relatively calm through this difficult period, and I recommend it whole-heartedly.
Best regards,
Elizabeth Davies

I want you to know that I felt I was in a vortex as a bar repeater and trying to pass was becoming more and more difficult. You supplied what I really needed, and that was someone to look over my shoulder at my writing and tell me where I was leaving out valuable language. Being able to send essays via e-mail and then discuss them with you on the telephone helped me to hone in on my weak areas.
Law students are least prepared for the performance tests. That was certainly my biggest hurdle. Being able to review my practice tests with you while they were fresh on my mind was very helpful. You supplied the feedback I needed in order to improve.

well! This course (and this exam) forced me to re-evaluate how I analyze legal
problems. I am more efficient in my writing, and I also can write drafts that
are more complex and more persuasive. I am so glad that I listened to you and
accepted what you were saying about how to address each question.
Let me know if your address changes, as I will continue to recommend your course
to others here in California from now on!

Dear Jackson
Following up on my e-mail, I want to tell you how pleased I was with the review course for the California Bar Lawyers Exam. The materials were quite helpful -concise and clear and, for the most part, the tapes helped supplement the reading. Most important, your critique of the written essays and exercises helped me adjust my writing style for the exam. Since I had not taken a bar exam in 34 years, I found your coaching reassuring and particularly liked your countdown messages in the last weeks before the exam. Since the pass rate this time was quite low, I think you can take pride in the assistance you gave me. Please feel free to use this letter in anyway you wish.
Very truly yours
Maurice L. Zilber
I want to take this opportunity to personally express my satisfaction with your bar study program.
What makes my case somewhat different is that I had been totally away from law for over six years. I was really concerned that I wouldn't remember the "game" of law with all its jargon and idiosyncrasies.
Also I've been a writer all my life but I had been told that my writing style was too sophisticated for the bar exam.
Jackson guided me with much personal attention into a functional writing style that played to my strengths rather than my fears. His guidance was firm with plenty of encouragement.
When I sat to take the bar, I had done all the assignments and more and I knew that I was capable of passing. That confidence goes a long way toward hitting the mark. I didn't waste -time and energy second guessing, I just put my energies to their best use.
After having taken another leading bar course, which cost considerably more, I have no reservations about recommending the Celebration Bar Exam Review and Jackson Mumey, in particular.

Dear Jackson:
I am pleased to report that I was successful on the California Bar exams in July. I had expected to report my marks, but apparently California does not release them to successful applicants.
I was surfing the net last year for potential career opportunities in the US when I stumbled upon your site, and, for the first time, considered a US call to enhance my marketability. However, my degree of commitment at the time was roughly equal to that required for signing up for an extramural art course. It was somewhat of a shock when your materials arrived, and I discovered how big a deal this obviously was for my fellow bar applicants. It was a little like trying out for tag football and finding yourself in the training camp of the Green Bay Packers!
Once I reconciled myself to the fact that I would be revisiting places in my law school education that I had cheerfully bid adieu, I was appreciative of the quality and organization of your course. Some of the lectures were of particular merit: Stan Hamrick’s Contracts is the single best summation of contract law I have ever come across. Your Evidence lecture has an organizational structure that commends itself to any would be instructor of this area. As well, although I was unfamiliar with some of the US law covered in the materials, the lectures, written notes, and tests were more than adequate to compensate for my lack of background in these areas.
I would also note the importance of the feedback on the practice questions for the written portion of the exam. If you have practiced law and now attempting to analyze an exam problem, the tendency is to cut to the chase, find a tool and beat the other side over the head with it. Your lectures and feedback on essay technique are important in practicing the evolution of the conceptual analysis that bar examiners want to see.
Finally, I was impressed and fascinated with the work which you have done and impart on the theory of test taking and maximizing performance. For someone whose previous modus operandi for exams in law school was to stay up all night and cram, I was sorry that I had not had the benefit of your instruction earlier.
Some of my Canadian colleagues are curious about my experience and I have no hesitation in commending your course as essential if they want to ensure success.
Once again, thank you.

Dear Jackson,
As you may already know I was fortunate enough to pass the California bar. With that I'd like to thank you for all the guidance and assistance you gave me. Because of your course I was able to calmly and without freaking out get through the essay/performance exam portions of the exam. I remembered everything we went over and though I was "caught" in the time limit I wasn’t too upset. I was even able to get through questions that I had not thoroughly covered like the professional responsibility question.
... For essay I can honestly say I would recommend your course to others and in fact have recommended it to two others (though many people are stuck in the BAR/BRI mind trap). Even though I haven’t taken "other" bar review courses that are still available I think that the personal approach you offer really allows a person to focus in and sharpen their individual problems as opposed to trying to remember all the "rules" even those that may not apply to them.
Again thank you very much for everything.

P.S. I even had one person who was "amazed" that I passed taking a 'home!' course.
